APPLICATION MODES

INDICATIONS

The technique involves electrical stimulation applied through electrodes placed on pain-affected areas of the body.

For FES Current:

CONTRAINDICATIONS

Do not use in patients with:

• Pacemakers or other implanted electronic devices
• Suspected infectious diseases
• Medical conditions where heat or fever suppression is recommended
• Stimulation applied to the carotid sinus nerves

Do not apply stimulation:

• On the neck or mouth, as spasms in the larynx and pharynx may occur, leading to airway closure or breathing difficulties
• Over the brain, heart area, as it may cause cardiac arrhythmias
• On swollen, infected, or inflamed areas, or over skin rashes, such as phlebitis, thrombophlebitis, varicose veins
• Near or over cancerous lesions
• While bathing, showering, or sleeping
• While driving, operating machinery, or performing any activity where electrical stimulation could pose a risk

SPECIAL PRECAUTIONS

• Using cables, electrodes, and other accessories not recommended for this device may increase emissions or decrease the device’s immunity
• Electrodes should be cleaned with water and neutral soap
• Use of conductive gel is required for proper current application
• In cases of obesity, adipose tissue may insulate the motor nerve, altering current sensitivity

Additional considerations:

• Peripheral Neuropathy: No response to short-duration electrical stimuli
• Decreased Sensory Capacity: May cause skin irritation
• Patient Tolerance to Current: Should progressively adjust to stimulation
